will seek federal mediation and closed-door negotiation sessions as they try to reach agreement on a contract for teachers for the coming school year.
The Wichita Eagle reports negotiators declared impasse during a meeting Wednesday. The two sides are at odds over issues including teacher evaluations, lesson plans, dress code, classroom discipline and professional development, and they have yet to discuss salaries.
