Problems with new teacher… Advice?

Okay, so this year we have a new band teacher. I was sad to see the old one go but was ready to give the new one a chance. Well, it turns out that he seriously hates me. Today I borrowed my friends to call my mother about a doctors appointment ( I don’t have a phone). I though you were allowed to use them during break, so I popped in to the band room to call her where it was relatively quiet. The new band teacher (Mr. “P”) walked around the corner and started to yell at me for being on a phone. I explained to him that I didn’t know that it wasn’t allowed, but he kept yelling at me, so I said I was sorry. He replied “Yeah it sucks to get caught, doesn’t it?” He has been very rude to me in the past but this did it. I started to tear up and he rolled his eyes, scoffed and walked away. I have never had problems with teachers ever before. What can I do?

  • Well that sucks :P I feel sorry for you…
sometimes we just have to deal with teachers like this. It really is no help to report them you know. If they’ve been teaching for a while, they won’t change easily. If it gets really out of hand though like he gives you bad grades (brings your grade down a whole letter grade) for no reason, or starts sending you to the office for no reason, I think you should do something about it or tell your parents to talk to the school. but for now, you just have to deal i guess… i know it sucks :P but there isn’t much you can do :P

  • Tell a superior teacher right away :/ hes a jerk and can be punished

  • I hate to say this, but here it is – there are rules for a reason. If you have to make a phone call that bad you should be going to the office to ask if you can give your mother a call. You shouldn’t be using a cell phone to do it. Do you teenagers not remember what has happened in the past or do you just not realize what could happen? Maybe you should consider things from the teacher’s point of view, they have to deal with all of you all day long – the idiots, the decent kids, the morons, the nerds, the stuck-up girls, the jocks and the so called normal kids. I have a friend right now who’s a new teacher and some of the things he tells me about the kids he teaches blows my mind!! Imagine having to put up with a bunch of kids who really just don’t want to listen at all and some who don’t think they have to! Why don’t you try to listen and follow the rules? You are just lucky he didn’t confiscate your friend’s phone.

  • In the real world , you will come upon many people who are difficult.

Maybe at school, maybe at work ……………

You be your normal pleasant self, follow the rules , play the instrument, and don’t give him 2 thoughts. It is his problem , not yours.

All this will make you a tough, confident adult. Embrace the challenge. :)

  • have a confrece with him
